Types of fishing lines. Part two.

In part one we have done with monofilament, fused and braided fishing line.

Now let me talk some about Fluorocarbon fishing line. Fluorocarbon lines usually designed for freshwater spinning and baitcasting applications. Manufactured from polymer of fluorine bonded to carbon, this line has some preferences over the other lines. First is an invisibility what so required when you fishing in clear and transparent waters.Second is the line is not affected by sunrays (like, unfortunately, braided fishing line is) – so it will serve you longer than any other line thereby save your money J. Third is very low stretch. Fourth – fluorocarbon lines do not absorb a water, like monofilament for example, what makes the line stronger. And fifth is lines do not float at surface thus allow lures to fallow fast, quick and very deep :) .

And at the end some words about Colored lines. You can find what braided lines have different colors – so you need to know which one you need and in what situation. There are a few different colors what will useful in next situations. a) Moss Green – best suitable for heavy weeds water.b) Clear Blue Fluorescent – indispensable when the sun is already out and you need to see the line above the water. In spite of the line is good visible above surface – it’s almost invisible under water. c) Choose Brown line when you fish in troubled or dark waters. d) When you fishing in mega clear, transparent waters – then you should use a Low Visibility Clear line. e) High Visibility Gold – as you already got from the line name this color has increased visibility. This line is good to see so it is good to use these lines when you want to troll several lines at the same time.

Gosh, look like that is all! Be guided by this info when choosing or purchasing the line, think what line do you want and need. You may like fluorocarbon or monofilament or may be braided fishing line – what is useful for most situations. Think twice – and you will do appropriate for you choice and your fishing will doomed to success :) . I wish you REALLY big fish :) .

Types of fishing lines. Part one.

Good time. Hope you know, good fishing line is the base for successful and enjoyable fishing. I want talk to you about different types fishing lines: monofilament line, braided fishing line, fluorocarbon and colored lines.

At first lets see to Monofilament line. Monofilament means a single strand of line, but in sport fishing it has become know as nylon fishing line. Nylon Monofilament is a single-component item, which is formed through a compressing process in which fused plastic is formed into a strand through a die. Nylon Monofilament line is a co-product of crude oil conversion. Premium grade line receives more attention in quality-control, have a lot of additives what makes line stronger, and have more abrasion resistant than normal line. This is why the premium lines is more expensive.

Then lets take a look at Co-filament one, which adds more resistance to the line but keeps the line strength, sensitivity, and has great wear and tear resistance.

Okay, look like we’re done with filament. Next are Fused Lines. Fused line composed form dozens microfilaments of gel spun polyethylene fiber what fused together. This construction produces a single strand of mega thing and ultra strong line. This kind of lines also has very good abrasion resistance and sensitivity.

Time to overview Braided fishing line. Braided line consists of interlaced stands of nylon, what make a multifilament line named Dacron. Dacron was the best before the invention of nylon. It’s not used for lines now, but substantially it is used in fly fishing reels. Braided line is configured with extra strong and thin synthetic fibre what, just imagine, 10 times stronger than steel (this material is used in military purposes and in aerospace craft). Because of its thinness, durability, abrasion resistance, sensitiveness and other factors braided fishing line was acknowledged as the best line in most fishing situation. Pay attention when you tie a knot – using of incorrect knot for braided line will come the line untied. Uni and Palomar knots are most suitable for most brands of braided lines. Using the knot what manufacture recommends to use is good idea also J. Also it is acceptable to use super-glue to make sure you knot will stay tied. Okay let consider we are done with braided fishing line.

To be continued… You can read about fluorocarbon and colored lines in one of my next articles. Have a nice day!

Braided Fishing Line about.

Pacification...

Hi fisherman. If you are here, you wanna know more about Braided Fishing Line, or probably receive a help in choosing fishing lines. How to choose? What the difference between lines? What kind of line you need?

Okay, I’ll try to share my knowledge with you and take you through this post. Just spend few minutes reading this article and, I promise, you will know much more about fishing lines.

It is very, very important to decide what kind of line you need. Good fishing line is the base for successful and enjoyable fishing and arguably the most important equipment item for fishermen. It is very important to have a good quality line that’s right for the job.

The choice of line is depends of situation and location:

For fishing in affluent cover, for example rocks, it is recommended to use a monofilament line, designed for it, usually designated tough, extreme or extra tough. Also try Braided Fishing Line and Fusion line here.

If you want fishing in transparent water, you have to use a thin line. Fluorocarbon line disappears underwater because it refracts not much light. Different are usually called extra thin or extra limp or another names that means small line diameter.

If you are fishing vegetation, say, water lily or bottom overgrown with moss or other algae, then try a thin, tough line. Braided fishing line is preferable in this case. Fused line could be used also, but braided line is the best. Names like Performance Braid, Spiderwire, Power Pro or Fireline are all excellent.

When you are spinning and going to use spin cast reels, a thin and limp line is best selection. It can be mono or braided fishing line or fusion one.

So, now you have to decide what kind of fishing line you need. I can suggest you to have all types of lines in your inventory, then you will no blame your line if you lose a BIG FISH :)
